China

According to the report released by the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China on January 17, 2020, the total population of mainland China exceeded 1.4 billion. While President Xi announced China will eliminate absolute poverty by 2020; provinces in the Mainland have begun to report on their poverty alleviation achievements. According to Chinese official media reports, China has reduced the rural poverty population under the current standard from 99.89 million in 2012 to 30.46 million in 2017. But yet the 30 million population under poverty is the most difficult to solve.
