Education Subvention and Help the Poor

Besides satisfying the basic living of the poor, we believe all children should be given education opportunities. Through education sponsorship programme, we assist poor children in completing their basic education, so as to overcome the cross-generation poverty. At the same time, we are concerned about the immediate needs of the poor. Therefore, we donate materials like food, clothing and stationary to the needy, hoping to give warmth to the poor in times of plight.

My father is a farmer and he died of unknown disease. After 4 years, my mother moved to provincial with my uncle. At that time my mother did not have enough money to buy clothes, food and stationary for me, my brother and sisters. She tried to work very hard to support us but it was still impossible to feed and take care of us. Then, she decided to send me to my auntie in Phnom Penh. I lived with my auntie for around 4 years. One day, my auntie told my mother that she could not afford me anymore because she also has 7 children too. Finally, my mother took me to UNACAS orphanage. Fortunately, I had chance to study at 10. In 2005, I was supported by donors of Happy Tree, so as to study IT in university. I believe I can be a senior administration executive in company or school, or do business after graduation. Then, I can be a donor and subsidize other orphans to study in university. Now, I help daily operation of Happy Tree office in Cambodia also!
